Parents/guardians wanting baptism for their child should contact the Faith Formation Office to give the necessary intake information. At this time parents will decide on a date for the baptism and for a Baptism preparation class. Classes are typically held on the second Saturday of the month from 9:00 -11:00 am. Classes are for parents and godparents. If godparents cannot attend the class, they can be given an online option or show evidence of having attended a class at another parish.
Baptisms will be scheduled after weekend Masses (the 5:00 pm Saturday Mass, 8:00 am or 11:30 am Mass on Sunday.)
Requirements for godparents:The person chosen to be godparent will represent the Church to the child throughout their lives.
Only one godparent is needed. If two are chosen one must be male and one female.
- The godparent must be at least 16 years old, and a practicing Catholic with no impediment to fulfilling this role, such as not being married in the Catholic Church.
- The person should have received the sacraments of Eucharist and Confirmation.
- A person from another Christian faith may be present with a Catholic godparent, but only as a witness, and will be designated as such for recording purposes.
Los bautismos se ofrecen después de las Misas los fines de semana—el sábado a las 5:00 p.m. y domingo a las 8:00 y 11:30 a.m.
Requisitos para padrinos:- La persona elegida para ser padrino representará a la Iglesia ante el niño durante toda su vida.
- Sólo se necesita un padrino. Si se eligen dos, uno debe ser hombre y la otra mujer.
- El padrino debe tener al menos 16 años de edad, ser católico practicante y no tener ningún impedimento para cumplir este rol, como no estar casado por la Iglesia Católica.
- La persona debió haber recibido los sacramentos de la Eucaristía y la Confirmación.
- Una persona de otra fe cristiana podrá estar presente con un padrino católico, pero sólo como testigo y será designado como tal para fines de registro.
