In the Funeral Liturgy, the Church turns to God in faith for the reward of eternal life for those who believe in God and lived for God in this life. The Church prays to God for the healing and consolation of those who mourn. -Order of Christian Funerals
When faced with the loss of a loved one, immediate planning of a funeral is a difficult and trying experience for families. The goal of our Funeral Team at the Church of the Immaculate Conception is to do all we can to assist in a prayerful and caring manner.
Funeral Procedure
Families usually meet with the funeral director first and the funeral director confirms arrangements with the church staff. If there is no funeral director involved in the planning the family is asked to contact the parish office to make arrangements. Family members then meet with our Funeral Team to plan the liturgy. During this time we discuss readings, music, and other details, such as the luncheon and burial. It also provides the family an opportunity to share about their loved one.
